In the last 10 years, participating governments have focused on improving vital infrastructure facilities in BIMP-EAGA. This includes the upgrading and expansion of airports, seaports, telecommunication and power generation facilities, and arterial highway networks. Policies are also in place to enhance transportation linkages via air, land and sea.
Today, BIMP-EAGA offers investors more than adequate infrastructure facilities to support agriculture, manufacturing and industrial operations catering to both local and international markets. EAGA focus areas are well connected directly by air and sea to most major cities in Asia, and through their national capitals to the rest of the world.
Numerous industrial estates and export processing zones are either operating or under construction throughout the EAGA focus areas. Studies indicate that the rental and sales prices of serviced lands in EAGA are cheaper compared to other East Asian countries.
